Художник-реалист, иллюстратор, один из самых популярных в США. Учился у своего отца, Н. Уайета [Wyeth, Newell Convers (N. C.)]. На раннем этапе творчества увлекался акварелью, но больше всего известны его картины, написанные темперой. На многих работах изображены любимые места художника - сельский район Чаддс-Форд [Chadds Ford] в Пенсильвании, где он родился, и рыболовецкий поселок Кушинг [Cushing] в штате Мэн, где он часто проводил лето. Наиболее известное произведение - "Мир Кристины" (1948) ["Christina's World"]. Также известна серия портретов Хельги, соседки художника, создававшаяся им в течении 15 лет и впервые выставленная в 1986
